Arts & culture leader Debra J.T. Padilla and Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Sarah Moshman join the leadership of Look What SHE DID!

Look What SHE Did! introduces new leadership team and new strategic direction as organization heads into its ninth year

LOS ANGELES – Look What SHE Did! proudly introduces two new leaders, as well as a new strategic direction for the organization, now in its ninth year. Joining Founder / Artistic Director, Julie Hébert to co-lead the organization is Interim Executive Director, Debra J.T. Padilla, who brings more than 30 years of experience as a visionary arts & culture leader, notably as former Executive Director of SPARC in Los Angeles.

Under Padilla’s leadership, Look What SHE Did! will focus on securing an archival partner for their collection of 160+ films about inspiring women, as well as seeking opportunities for film distribution and new programmatic initiatives. Says Padilla, “The richness and depth of LWSD cannot be underestimated; the community of women filmmakers and storytellers has set a high standard of amplifying women’s stories.”

Working alongside Hébert and Padilla is incoming Deputy Director, Sarah Moshman, who will guide and develop Look What SHE Did!’s film programs, partnerships and distribution efforts. Moshman is an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and TEDx speaker whose work has been featured on Netflix, PBS, Upworthy, Marie Claire, CNN, and Good Morning America.

“I am thrilled to welcome Debra J.T. Padilla and Sarah Moshman to the Look What SHE Did! team.” says Hébert, adding, “We are wildly fortunate to have these two phenomenal women lead us into an exciting evolution of our beautiful, vital nonprofit dedicated to celebrating and elevating women’s stories.”

The organization bids farewell to outgoing Executive Director, Sylvia Hathaway Chavez, after five remarkable years of leadership. Chavez adds, “Serving as Executive Director of Look What SHE Did! has been an honor and a privilege. I’m deeply proud of how our board, staff, and filmmakers rallied around the cause of telling women’s stories in such a profound way.”

Under the leadership of Board Chair, Mary P. Curtis, the Look What SHE Did! Board established new strategic directives to secure the future of the film collection and drive new viewership. Curtis adds, “Look What SHE Did! envisions a future with rich new programs and subjects, reaching an ever-expanding audience.”
