We tend to reserve the word emerging for youth, or for the beginning of a career, but any woman in Hollywood will tell you, we are always emerging in our lives and careers.” said Deputy Director Sarah Moshman. “Look What SHE’s Doing! is for ages 30 and up and up and up, no experience required. Early career, mid-career, never planning a career in film, anyone is welcome to apply. I am extremely passionate about sharing my knowledge of using the camera as I know it is the greatest tool at our disposal when it comes to representation of our stories on screen.”

Sarah Moshman is known for her films shining a light on female protagonists, women throughout history, and themes of motherhood. Her most notable film Losing Sight of Shore follows the story of four brave women that rowed across the Pacific Ocean from California to Australia setting two world records. She secured distribution of the film in 190 countries on Netflix worldwide landing in the “Women Who Rule The Screen” Category and on many Top 10 Sports and Travel Films Lists. More recently, Sarah directed a narrative short about the 1st mother in space entitled UNBOUND, which won 1st Place at NASA’s Cinespace competition and screened on the International Space Station.

Moshman joined the Look What SHE Did! Team as Deputy Director in 2023 and hopes the Look What SHE’s Doing! program will continue for years to come.

Artistic Director of Look What SHE Did! Julie Hébert appreciates how this new program builds on the legacy of the non-profit she founded 10 years ago. “This program represents the next evolution of Look What SHE Did! expanding the mission of women telling stories about other women by equipping emerging female filmmakers to do that, at any age. I am excited to see the stories these filmmakers will produce under the guidance of Sarah Moshman.”

Look What SHE Did! is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission to inspire women and girls to greatness by bringing to light stories of remarkable women who changed the world. We create short films and events featuring female storytellers celebrating women who inspire them, offering our films to be viewed, discussed and enjoyed.
