Maggie Wilderotter

Maggie Wilderotter is an American businesswoman who has made significant contributions to the telecommunications industry. Born in 1955 in New Jersey, Wilderotter began her career in the telecommunications industry in the 1980s, and rose through the ranks at several major companies, including AT&T, Microsoft, and Frontier Communications.

In 2004, Wilderotter was named CEO of Frontier Communications, becoming the first woman to lead a Fortune 500 telecommunications company. Under her leadership, Frontier Communications experienced significant growth and expansion, with the company acquiring several smaller telecommunications providers and expanding its customer base across the United States. Wilderotter stepped down as CEO in 2015, but remained involved in the company as Executive Chairman of the Board until 2016.

Throughout her career, Wilderotter has been a vocal advocate for gender equality and women’s leadership, and has served on several boards and committees focused on promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She has received numerous awards and recognition for her contributions to the telecommunications industry and her advocacy work, including the Women’s Executive Network’s “Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100” award and the National Diversity Council’s “Most Powerful and Influential Women” award. Wilderotter remains an influential and respected figure in the business world, and her leadership and contributions continue to inspire and impact the industry.
